  • 24th Annual Berea's National Rib Cook-Off & Beer Fest

    Berea's National Rib Cook-Off promotional posterPopular for its family picnic-style atmosphere, Berea's National Rib Cook-Off & Beer Fest at the Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds begins Friday, May 26, at noon, and extends throughout Memorial Day Weekend, wrapping up Monday, May 29, at 7 p.m. Twelve rib teams will compete from all over the U.S. in hopes of garnering one of the three major awards: Best Ribs, Best Sauce and People's Choice. Your vote counts. Winners will be announced on Monday. Enjoy a wide selection of local craft beers. Affordable family fun includes a kids activity area with a rock-climbing wall, a super-slide, swings and more. Free musical entertainment spans generations and genres throughout the weekend. Saturday afternoon is highlighted by the Corvette Cleveland Car Show (clevelandcorvetteclub.org). Admission is free from noon till 5 p.m. on Friday and then just $10 Friday after 5 p.m., Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Kids under 12 admitted free. On Monday, all retired and active military personnel showing military ID will be admitted for free. This is a rain or shine event. As always, parking is free.
